These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of this auction website. By using the site, registering for an account, or placing a bid, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Who may use the site
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure. Do not share your account.
Accounts and registration
Some features require an account and, for bidding, approval to participate in a specific auction. We may decline or revoke access at our discretion.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, place bids you do not intend to honor, manipulate prices, use another person's account, or use the site for any unlawful purpose.
After security processing, normalized catalog photos and logos are stored in public object storage and are retrievable by anyone with the object URL, including before the related listing is published. Listing and API access controls do not protect those image bytes.
After a listing or image is unpublished or deleted, its origin object may remain directly retrievable until cleanup completes. Copies already fetched, shared, logged, indexed, or cached may remain available afterward.
Withdrawing, pulling, hiding, cancelling, unlisting, or deleting catalog media stops future discovery through the current Gavelos catalog and public APIs. It does not promise Internet-wide removal of copies already obtained outside Gavelos's systems. Report an urgent safety or privacy concern promptly so the auction house can remove the active catalog listing and coordinate any available follow-up.
Auction houses and authorized staff must not upload titles, IDs, documents, addresses, identifiable people, financial or tax records, bidder-verification material, estate paperwork, ownership evidence, or other confidential or sensitive content as catalog photos or logos. This restriction applies to images supplied by staff, contractors, consignors, or other contributors. An auction house must impose the same restriction in its own consignor and contributor terms.
Auctions and purchases
Bidding, payment, pickup, and related rules are described in the Auction Terms and Conditions and the Buyer / Bidder Agreement. Those terms apply to every auction you participate in.
Intellectual property
Site content, branding, and software are owned by the operator or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and total liability is limited as described in the auction terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the version and effective date above, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
